Hi All,

Late last night as we were finishing the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie, we were startled by a spotlight from another yacht wanting to raft up on us. This is quite normal for those who share the moorings placed by the three yacht clubs who cruise here (the are about 85 moorings dotted around the place) but not for those of us who were "borrowing" a charter boat mooring. After they secured alongside the skipper was a bit surprised to find that they weren't on a club mooring - seems he got a bit lost going into Ship Cove.

Early start this morning as we motored around to Pelorus Sound (named for HMS PELORUS, the ship that explored/surveyed it). We had a quiet trip and picked up a mooring in Homestead Bay just before lunch. This place has internet so school for tomorrow will be a goer (especially important for Sarah who has a German lesson). The rest of the day has been pretty lazy with a full blown Sunday routine in force (including Captain's sleep time...).

The topography here is a little less imposing than on the Queen Charlotte side - perhaps because the hills are mostly denuded of vegetation for farming and forestry. That said, the wind doesn't seem to affect us as much around here - happy days!

We will probably hang around here in Pelorus Sound until the end of the week when we will sail over to Nelson.

Until tomorrow, TTFN
