Hi All,

Today we hired a rent-a-dent and went to the Rere rockslide and Rere Falls - both great spots with fun stuff to do that you don't normally see back home. The Rere Rockslide is a 80-100m rockface on a bout a 40 degree angle which a river runs over, and which is covered in fine moss. The locals slide down it using boogee boards, inner tube and air mattresses. We caught up with Wayne form the yacht next door for a few beers at the club last night and he lent us two boards to take. The girls (and cate and I) had a wonderful time sliding down the rockface for about three hours.

On the way back to Gisborne we stopped in at Rere Falls, which is a wave-rock formation with a waterfall running over the top, which you can walk behind. Both places had good swimming holes, although there are signs around suggestiong that you don't drink the water due to "agricultural run off".

Having concluded all of our business here in Gisborne, and with a 20 knot Northerly in the offing, we have decided to make for Napier. Because it is a 90nm trip, we will be leaving at 0430 tomorrow morning.
