The head lives!!!!

Cleaning out the pipework is much like going to the dentist - it costs you a lot, but you only ever get back to where you started. Ce' est La Vie. Both Cate and I are pretty stiff and sore this morning from two days of the crouching and contortions required to work under the sink bench in the bathroom, but at last the job is over.

After our "win" we finally went ashore at Mahurangi National Park at a place called Scott's point. It is a beautiful little spot with a historic homestead and pretty gardens. As it was low tide we went for a walk around the small island adjacent.

Following our walk we weighed anchor and headed back across to Bon Accord Harbour, which has become one of our favorite spots - here we bumped into Jock and Leanne on thier catamaran "Just in Time" who are returning to Gulf Harbour after six months in the Pacific - we went aboard for a few drinks and were regaled with stories of their adventures. Leanne also added that female urine has more calcium and that this would have led to a rapid build up of calcite in the plumbing of the head. I am now busily seeking empirical evidence to support the claim...

Dinner was a surprisingly good hamburger at the Kawau Is yacht club, and we returned onboard and collapsed for an early night.

The plan is to remain in and around Kawau is for the the next few days and return to GH on Wednesday.

Hope all are well at home.
