Yep, Sounds nautical, and it was!

Went to the loo this morning, and faced the boatowners worst nightmare - Pump, pump, pump - nothing! With trepidation (and rubber gloves) I commenced stripping down the head pump in the (faint) hope that there was nothing too obnoxious left in the system. Sadly, there was. Following a flood of King George the thirds, Cate and I then began an entertaining day of pulling eveything apart to trace the source of the blockage, which, as it turns out, is a severe build up of calcite in the discharge hose - akin to a blocked artery or a "calcified root canal"(guess who came up with that one....). Having cleaned 85% of the blokage from the inboard end, it turns out that the last 20cm of the pipe to the hull fitting remains blocked - as it will stay until tomorrow.

It is a measure of the development of the girls over time of living aboard that the requirement to "bucket and chuck it" has been met with equanimity. Cate however observed wryly "If this had been in the brochure, I wouldn't have bought a ticket".

"Tomorrow is another day..."
