Haven't bothered with a position for tonight - I have a feeling we will be spending quite a bit of time here in the future...

The downside of coming out here is that we don't want to leave! Even in the pouring rain and wind (and it was very windy last night) the Barrier (as the locals call it) is quite majestic. It is a pleasant thing to be entirely surrounded by land and in calm waters.

Last night we had a fairly lively time swinging around the anchor, but we didn't move an inch and the new anchor has proved it's worth - we were all well rested this morning. Unfortunately the anchor light has developed an intermittent fault which is annoying, because you don't know when it it is going to fail. I guess that means another trip aloft and much poking and prodding.

Today we had a worthwhile day of school while the rain and wind was at its worst; late this afternoon we returned to Smokehouse Bay where the kids played on the swings and got covered in mud - tomorrow we will dry some wood out and flash up the fire so we can all have long hot showers in the bathouse ashore. It should be called "Bathouse Bay!"

We are a little concerned about our friend Bob Williams - last blog we saw from him he was in his yacht, perched on a rock in Patagonia - nothing heard from him today so far - hope he survived the experience OK.

Anyway, weather has calmed right down again and we are about to tuck into a big feed of corned beef for dinner - viva la shuttle chef!
