Today we sailed Muros to Baiona another 40NM down the coast. Weather was similar to yesterday it’s starts off calm and then a sea breeze builds to over 20kts starting about 2pm. This makes for swift progress in the afternoon but parking in an unknown marina in 24kts can be pretty hairy. Today was no exception and I was particularly proud to do a near perfect park on a very dodgy pontoon with 24kts of wind up the stern.
The scenery today was exceptional as we went inside some islands off Vigo that are a National park.
Meanwhile domestic duties don’t go away, it’s been much colder than I expected so had to wash through a few thermals and leggings. Drying them en route is hazardous as any splash and you are back at square one.
We are still sailing with the 50ft Norwegian boat Olliver its very reassuring to have another boat nearby …and you get nice photos taken of Purple Mist. They also have a fridge and cold beer. That’s Spain now completed, Portugal tomorrow!!
