Two seams on the genoa had become unstitched so we dropped the sail early
in the morning before the wind got up. If this is done when it’s windy the
sail fills and you end up sailing off and dragging the anchor. The
‘repair’ is merely slapping on some adhesive sailcloth over the seams which
should keep everything in place until we can get it sewn properly.
Beyzano has the same engine as the one we have just taken out and as we
have become very familiar with it in the 12 years since we bought the boat Rob
asked me to look at something with him. It is very unusual for me to be
able to offer assistance on something like this so it was a bit of a
novelty.
Rob and Rhian came over for Sunday roast in the evening and we had a very
good evening. They might go to the Pacific next year and it was sad to
think that this might well be the last time we see eachother. This is
often the way with the cruising life which is full of hellos and goodbyes.
We cleared out through Customs on Tuesday ready for departure to the next
island north which is Antigua.
