We have been waiting for a suitable weather window
to depart for the Cape Verde Islands and we could have possibly left yesterday
except that there are going to be large seas being pushed down from that big low
that has been giving the UK such terrible weather - and it is Lin's birthday
today.
We went out for a very nice but rather slow lunch
and in the evening were invited on board Zaurak for celebration drinks before
the four of us went out to dinner. Ian and Judith had gone searching
for some Cassis to make Kir Royale because they knew that was a drink she
liked! Very kind and then up popped a small birthday cake with 5 candles
which Lin extinguished with her usual gusto (the candles, not the
cake).
All in all it was a lovely day and we were glad we
were not at sea.
