The new pressure relief valve that was fitted on Wednesday was leaking so that was re-fitted yesterday.

The Vetus filter did not arrive when it was due yesterday because the delivery driver 'couldn't find the address' so he had taken it back to Alicante without bothering to telephone first!  It finally arrived this morning and Dennis and I fitted it.  We ran the engine and there were hardly any air bubbles in the cooling system so it seems to have resolved that aspect.  The thermomenter showed some improvements in the engine temperature.

Unfortunately when we ran the engine we were getting a burning smell which we traced to the alternator.  Dennis took it off and dismantled it in his workshop.  The windings are definitely burnt out.  The bad news is we need a new alternator, the good news is there is stock in Spain (Barcelona).  But we are placing an order on a Friday again and it's a bank holiday in Spain on Monday so no new alternator until Tuesday at least.  It looks like another weekend in sunny Torrevieja.

We gave up and had a nice meal on board:-
