A small hotel on the beach at Grande Anse:-
Star Clipper at anchor:-
Having taken a free mooring buoy yesterday afternoon we enjoyed a peaceful
afternoon until a swell came in during the evening. It became a rolly,
uncomfortable night so we decided to move on to the capital, Fort de
France.
The view in the morning as we left:-
It was only 6.5 miles to Fort de France and we motor-sailed all the
way. There was only one small open stretch of water which became very
rough in strong winds. The anchorage is near the cruise dock and situated
by Fort St Louis but given it’s location and the strong wind it was surprisingly
peaceful.
Fort St Louis:-
Quite dramatic with the mountains in the background:-
Some new buildings alongside the old:-
