The island tour starts each day at 2.15 pm from town so we cycled in to have lunch beforehand.  There are signposts down a side street and along an alley to a place called La Siesta.  It's right on the beach and not easy to stumble across.  We decided this would do for lunch which turned out to be superb and was served by a lovely, friendly lady.  We enjoyed it so much we booked a table for dinner as we hope to leave for Madeira tomorrow.

The tour was on an open top bus:-

We didn't expect there was much to see on this small barren island and we were not disappointed!  The main feature of the tour seemed to be to take you to viewpoints around the island and there was little to be seen in between.  It was still good to do though.

Porto Santo built an airport before Madeira and visitors used to arrive here and transfer to Madeira by Ferry.  Madeira doesn't have any sandy beaches and Maderians come over to Porto Santo for the weeked to enjoy the 3.5 miles long beach:-
