We went ashore in the morning and, using an agent, did the paperwork to formally clear out of Turkey.  Our 90 day visitors permit started on 5 May in Istanbul so had some time to run but, even though we will be sailing along the Turkish coastline for some miles yet we don't expect to be landing in the country again before the permit expires.  The next chance to clear out would be in Bodrum which is slightly out of our way.  Several offices have to be visited - all in different locations - so it is much easier with an agent.  We saw the agent trotting around town on a couple of occasions with our file but when we returned to his offfice a couple of hours later it was all done.  Our passports were returned duly stamped with the exit visa and the compulsory, expensive Turkish 12 month Cruising Permit (renewed only last month) cancelled.  We'd better not be returning to Turkey just yet!

We came back ashore in the evening and had a nice meal in 'Culinaria' restaurant which is one of our favourites.  We used my recent birthday as the excuse.  As the evening wore on we thought we might not leave tomorrow after all!
