This is a bit late because we've been a bit busy.  At midnight last night we discovered we couldn't furl the genoa away.  I spent an hour lying on the bouncing foredeck with my headtorch identifying the problem.  I'd done a clumsy furl earlier in the day and jammed the line in the drum.  It's important to be able to furl the sail away partially or completely in stronger winds but to resolve it the genoa would have to be unfurled and taken down.  We decided to leave it until daylight.

Simon offered a tip which made all the difference when we tackled it today.  It took a long time in separate stages but normal service is now resumed.  Unfortunately we lost speed during all this so the Distance Run  for today and tomorrow will have suffered a bit.

The sky has just cleared so we have the first blue skies for a few days.
