Distance Run 3 Miles !
On Tuesday I managed to contact Seaway Marine in
Slovenia who manufacture the rudder bearings for Bavaria Yachts and ordered new
top and bottom bearings for delivery to Portugal in a week or so. This
turned out to be much cheaper than ordering from Bavaria Yachts! We intend
to lift the boat again in Portugal to fit them before setting off for
the Canaries later next month.
We had a wonderful dinner at 'The Landings'
Restaurant in Queensway Quay on Tuesday night. Fine dining at it's best
and a very unusual and interesting menu from a Jamaican Rasta chef
!
We did some more provisioning, bought a replacement
battery for the laptop and a new iron (no connection between these) and various
other jobs.
We left the marina on Thursday and motored around
to fill up with duty free diesel at just under £1 a litre. Then on to the
anchorage at La Linea beside the runway for Gibraltar airport. You could
count the rivets on the planes and check the tyre treads! All very
interesting.
