Once into the marina we could hook up to the internet and book flights to the UK and we flew via Tenerife today.

It was a productive time.  Lin had her eyes tested and bought new glasses and sunglasses and we both made our routine doctor visits.  My doctor confirmed that the bursitis in the elbow would take time to heal but needn't inhibit sailing so that was the all clear we wanted.

Our satellite phone on the boat links to a laptop so we can request and view weather forecasts when at sea.  We decided that as our laptop is 6 years old, which is prehistoric in PC terms and therefore might fall over at any time, we had better get another as a back up so we did the research and found something suitable.

We stayed in Rugby with Lin's parents and Andrea and Helen came up for the weekend which was wonderful.  We had not seen Helen for 18 months because she was doing her 'world tour' when we were last in England and we hadn't seen Andrea for 11 months.  Lin also hadn't seen her sister Jan, who now lives in Australia, since last Christmas and we were going to miss her when she and her family came to England this Christmas.  Fortunately she happened to be in London for a conference so we managed to see her for lunch in Richmond one day as well.  Unfortunately we didn't get to see all family though and sadly we saw none of our friends.  The boat and it's further preparations beckoned.
