It's a good job we like Carloforte because the winds kept us her for 6 days.  At €77 a night at the marina this wasn't funny.  We were glad we weren't there in August as the price goes up to €120 a night.

We bumped into Phil and Monica from the catamaran 'Miss Molly'.  We last saw them in Marmaris where they had been out of the water for months refurbishing their boat.  We had a drink with them on board their cat and had lunch with them the next day before they departed for Menorca.  They were going to spend a few weeks in the Balearics on their way west and intend to cross the Atlantic this winter (as we do).  We hope to catch up with them again at least by the time we reach the Canary Islands.

Some (not very good) pictures of Carloforte by day:-

We intend to skip the Balearics and sail straight to mainland Spain, perhaps Cartagena.  We have a wind vane (Hydrovane) and a Satellite phone being delivered to Gibraltar, as well as an AIS (Automatic Identification System) which transmits and recieves data about us and other ships.  A great way to find out what ships are up to if they are near you so you can take avoiding action.  These have all got to be fitted and tested before we leave the Spanish / Portugese mainland so we have quite a bit to do yet
