Waiting

Sunday 17 to Friday 22 February 2013
We were all geared up to depart on Sunday
and found another maintenance issue to resolve so, after topping up the diesel
tanks we crept back in to the marina and said hello to the people to whom we had
just said goodbye. Whoever coined the _expression_ 'Long term cruising is
merely boat maintenance in exotic climes' was clearly talking from
experience.
We'll spare you the details this time but Monday
and Tuesday were spent on repairs.
A large, deep low pressure system in the north
Atlantic is causing large swells combined with a lack of wind and now we
are waiting for the next weather window.
Yesterday one of the friendly marineros came up to
me and asked if I would like any help cleaning my cock. It took a moment
to realise that he was using the French word 'cocque' (which means boat hull -
there are a lot of French people here) but I managed to keep a straight face
whilst politely declining his offer.
Those of you who know Lin will be familiar with her
organising skills. Well here is a picture of some of the 'soft' stores
which Lin bought a week ago, all neatly labelled. Unfortunately these have
to be replaced as we are working our way through them here in the
marina:-
