A radio call to the Harbour Master, Derek Ince, was successful this morning and we requested permission to enter and clear in.  Derek explained that the Customs people hadn't arrived yet so we waited and pumped up the dinghy.

Later the VHF came on again and it was Derek with a guest,  A lady's voice said hello.  It was our friend Angie who said they were in the 'Yacht Club' bar and would wait until we were through.  Derek also said the swell was still unusually high and that coming in by dinghy would be best.

We gave up waiting to be told the Customs officials had arrived and eventually came in anyway.   As we approached we could see the welcoming committee!  With Angie were other friends from Barbados, Carol, Mike and Judy.  We were touched that they should have come to meet us, but we weren't allowed 'to mingle' until formalities were comlpeted.

We did the paperwork with Health and Customs and waited for the Immigration man to arrive from Bridgetown where he had been clearing in a couple of cruise ships.  Once Mr Immigration was here the formalities were completed quickly - and off we went to mingle!

Drinks all round followed by a nice lunch on dry land in nice company.

View of the west coast of Barbados from the sea.  Just left of centre are some nice yellow houses with green roofs:-
