We left Cartagena around 9 am and sailed / motored about half and half.  We were surprised to see so many jelly fish in the sea off Mar Menor (an inland sea which itself is full of them) and then realised that the whole coast seemed to be similarly affected.

We anchored in Torrevieja Harbour just outside the marina.  We were the only boat at anchor so we expect to get moved sometime.

I collected Dennis from Costa Blanca Yacht Services and brought hime back to the boat.  I got in the water with the jellies and 'waggled' the rudder and he watched the top of the rudder stock from the deck.  It looks pretty certain that the bottom bearing has gone at least.  Dennis and I are each going to search the internet to try to find someone who is carrying some stock because the Bavaria Yachts factory in Germany has shut down for August!

We have also learned that the lift driver here has gone on holiday for a week so we have to wait until next Monday to inspect the bearing and structure.  Even though we might not be able to get replacements by then we can at least inspect the bearing and it's housing to see whether there is any other damage and establish whether it would be safe to carry on until we can get replacements.
