A long sail E from Hydra to Kythnos. Half way across we
got hit by a healthy Meltemi blow of 25+ kn. These fat bum boats don't really
like to heel over, so a rapid shortening of sails for the next few hours and
some fish-feeding by a couple of crew as we hunkered down for a fast,
wet reach in otherwise ideallic Meditteranean
conditions.

A perfect protected anchorage alongside a sand spit at
the NW corner of Kythnos, as recommended by Kent from
Cordelia.
The terrible trio - Carol, Marina and Jen (from Terry's
boat) took off into "town" to find trouble, or boys, or both. Brian and Linda
lounged aroound like sloths, and the rest of us variously swum, walked ashore or
drank, or some combination of these.
