Be careful what you wish
for!
Wind arrived just before sunrise, 15-20kn squalls which
lasted until a couple of hrs after sunset! Wave after wave of squalls all day
with washing machine seas. At least the direction was mostly favourable, so got
some great sailing with peak speeds of
11kn.
A very wet day for me in the cockpit with a 20 hr
continuous watch. Conditions a bit challenging for anyone not knowing the yacht,
and besides they were all seasick to varying
degrees.
Passed the halfway point early afternoon, so helped
myself to a Rum and Coke but no one else conscious to join me acknowledge the
landmark.
Dropped off about 9pm and handed watch over to Steve
for a few hours while I got some sleep. Wind continued to die so back to
motoring for most of the night.
