Lost track of
time - haven't slept, haven't left cockpit, barely let go of wheel! Think now
about 3 days later as we close
the Borneo S coast, at some time the otehr
day - between the W winds and E current - we where actually (and depressingly) EAST of Borneo - and further away from Batam than
when we started!!!
On the plus side, we are across the strong wind
band and the waves and wind have moderated. Still a 2kn E current we have to
fight against.
Time for some rest for me. No sleep the last 3 days
and could rarely leave the wheel as conditions too wild for the autopilot. Sam
took a day or two to get his sea legs then soldiered on extremely well
considering the conditions for his first sea passage (I have tried to placate
him, and assured him that it's unlikely he'll ever get conditions that rough
ever again!).
