Good sailing
but slow progress. Last few days have still been beating into 18-20kn headwinds.
Yankee staysail, and a reef in each main has been a good balance of speed and
pointing in the conditions.
Yesterday took
a tack to within a mile or so of the Java coast to check for more favourable
conditions there, unfortunately a contrary current weighed against the improved
wind angle and calmer conditions. Taking back in now to give it a second chance
as ceertainly the seas are smoother in near the coast - plus there's cell
signal!
Current not
looking good again so will head back out to sea and spend another few days
getting pounded by 20kn headwinds and big seas!
