Bonjour tout le monde!!

After cycling around the area on bikes, borrowed from the capitanerie, we decided to stay local for tea & headed up the pontoon to Le Cargo, just off the marina. They served a beautiful cote de gascogne…..Ed had (more) oysters, fish mixed grill, followed by a mini fruit chocolate fondue with ice-cream, I had a smoked salmon “salad” & helped with oysters & dessert……sadly La Palue in L’Aber Wrac’h has been moved into 2nd place…..the food, wine & ambience were amazing, even though it looked like a hole from the outside. If you plan to stay in Locmiquelic, don’t be deceived!!

Today we covered 55 miles from Lorient to Pornichet in 8 hours, averaging 7-8 knots & a max speed, surfing down a wave, of 11.6 knots, which Ed assures me is pretty impressive! We had a brief hairy moment when Ed accidentally switched the autopilot off & spun Aardvarc around into the wind (I nearly wet myself) but the boat shrugged it off & went “what did you do that for”…..then happily got back on course……

Another amazing feat is the 7/10 Dad Joke from Ed today…..it was 8/10, but I think I need to deduct a point as I marked it high due to my initial shock! J

We moored up in Pornichet & have decided to eat on the boat, as the town is quite touristy & a long walk away, also can get an early night before another long leg tomorrow to Les Sables. Red wine is open & the steak is ready……yum!!

Have attached a photo of the dolphins that joined us the other day between Camaret & Benodet…..there was a pod of about 20, it was amazing….always a joy to see them…and also a load of photos from Camaret and the journey to Benodet that we have only just loaded from the camera...

Heather xx
