Togo Canyon, Niue

Our travels round the island took us to an amazing jungle, followed by a
track to the rugged shoreline and then down a make shift ladder into a
Canyon.
The whole area was deserted except for us.

Niue has the smallest yacht club in the world. It doubles up as an ice cream
parlour!

The Commodore is Keith Vial. He gave us the best welcome yet.
We have joined the yacht club and have lifetime membership.

Have a look at the website www.niueyachtclub.com
You will see a picture of Martha, a lovely Estonian boat travelling around
with us. She went onto the reef in the dark and had to be refloated.

We helped get the rudder back on after it had been ripped off and they are
now hopefully fit to travel on.

We had an official welcome by the President of the Island and some local
dancing including a version of the Hacka war chant.

Special thanks to Keith, Jim and Mamata at the Yacht club and Les in the car
hire place for making our stay so memorable
