Whangerai Christmas
After a couple of attempts to leave the ‘sticky’ Bay of Islands we made it down overnight to Whangerai.  This charming, NOT, city is 9miles upriver from the heads and has a charming, YES, marina run by lovely people, TRUELY.
We intended to stay for a few weeks and suss out where we were going to meet up with everyone for Christmas, but that all went by the way as the weather turned to a ball of chalk and the people came to us.  It was a very wet and windy period and being tied to a dock was certainly a good option.
