Benalmadena. The second swelliest place we've been to (the first, snapped our 1st boarding plank).
We led VictoryCat in (they'd slowed to do a bit of fishing). Moored against concrete, with a 2 ft tide and changeable weather.
Next morning 'Andy' from the local sail loft arrived, to measure us for new livery. I ordered a twin downwind headsail (wing on wing, joined luff), and a storm sail for my newly designed and fitted inner storm stay. I also had the storm stay shortened by 30cm as the original was a might long. Chance climbed the mast to bring it down (photo).
VictoryCat didn't want to get caught for most of the week (storm coming), so stayed only 2 nights while we're here for 4 possibly 5.
Man o man have we been swinging around. We've got six lines out to try and restrict swinging, but as it's a balancing act (too tight is a no no, boats must be allowed to range), we just couldn't get it right. Every action had positive and negative consequences. It's totally like being at sea, so Karen naturally felt sea sick some of the time! And she hasn't been of the boat much as using the plank is like mounting a fairground ride! At one stage the plank got trapped (like before when we snapped it), and there was some nasty fiberglass cracking sounds :-(, another small job for Gibraltar.
Sunday was ace. I found a bar that changed channel to the Spa F1 GP for me, and straight after that race, went to another bar that had the British round of the MotoGP on. Brilliant afternoon :-)
Bigish thunderstorm went through last night and this morning, and there were a few heavy showers which was nice, but it's as warm as ever. Might move tomorrow, but the weather isn't all that favourable.
Bought and fitted a second fishing rod holder for the stern. All set to catch dinners on the Atlantic crossing, except I have no clue how to catch fish. Will be taking lots of canned and frozen food, to avoid starvation.
Re-watched all of 'The Lord Of The Rings' :-)
