The 'Swiss Contingent' headed for Bozburun and we for Datca. Hugged goodby for the final time. Met them later in the day ... WTF!
Longish day, motoring as usual, bit bumpy. Two hours from Datca as we rounded a headland, Allegre popped up on the AIS as just arrived in Datca - weird - but got weirder. An hour later they left Datca and headed up the coast. After much speculation that there was something wrong with Datca (full maybe?), we guessed their new destination and opted to change course and stalk them for a change! They saw us coming on the AIS and mirth was had. Turned out they had anchor problems and as they couldn't find a side on space for their 48 footer, opted to go to the quieter Palamuc fishing harbor. Good move, Palamuc was a small bit bloomin lovely. One night became two, and then it was time to move on, but not before fouling the anchor again! Rubber Rich entered the still too cold Med yet again, for an 06:00 duck dive on the anchor, to pull it out from a giant chain stretched right across the harbor. Success.
