We have certainly been led
a merry dance around this part of the ocean. Looking at our path on the chart,
it looks like the tracks of a demented chicken on alcopops! We have now been
sailing for seven days and out of that time the number of miles which
we have covered while actually pointing at Bermuda you could count on one hand.
We still have around 250nm to cover and the forecast is for more favourable
winds, however they have been promising us that for a week now. I just hope
after all this effort that Bermuda is worth it, hopefully it can't be as bad as
the USA! If the rest of the trip is this slow, could someone back in UK get the
sprouts on for Xmas as we'll certainly miss the best time to do it. I'm not
really complaining as tonight is a vast improvement on last night, as there are
no waves crashing past and we had so much spray around you couldn't even
stick your head out of the cockpit, a very wet and bumpy
ride.
