Tenerife (still) 20th
November.
Yes, we are still
here. Chris has a few more grey hairs after computing the weather
for a day before our big departure, and cleverly putting the brakes on, in order
to avoid some rather dodgy weather. There is a very unseasonal low
prowling around, causing 35 knot head winds. This morning 250 ARC
boats left into this headwind in a rather kamikaze fashion, which seems like
another good reason not to be part of a rally, if you leave willy nilly whatever
the weather. We are all well, enjoying being in a marina for all these
whistling winds. We hope that the wind will re-establish itself back
into it's seasonal trade wind direction, from the north east, before the end of
the week.
The slightly annoying thing
is that from the catering side, all the preprepared food is now being eaten but
not on passage, and will have to be rebought and recooked before our eventual
departure. A small price to pay for avoiding difficult
weather.
