Whilst walking back to the
boat last night we passed this plywood 'Atlantic crossing' rowing boat, and
stopped to chat to the charming and cheerful Scottish rower onboard.
He is called Lorgan, and he is leaving today on a two thousand mile trip all by
himself across the Atlantic. We had a fascinating half an hour chatting to
him about how he manages in all the big seas, and how his trip has been so
far. He was hit by a trawler and holed in the Bay of Cadiz, and now has
repaired his wee boat. I now feel quite pathetic for being worried
about the Atlantic crossing on the Sarah Grace after seeing him be so
brave. He wants to rename 'Atlantic Wolf' the 'Lovely Yvette' when
he reaches the Carribbean, after his
girlfriend.
