After much rummaging through diaries: March the 31st 2006.
Actually I wasn't even sure if it was April....
We have finally arrived in Grenada, after a reasonably relentless sail down from Martinique, via St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Bequia Island, Union Island and then here.  Yesterday was our last day sail, whizzing along at six to seven knots a lot of the time.  We have learnt to stay further off shore whilst passing islands, to keep the sails filled and the momentum going, ticking off the seamiles.

Great excitement yesterday as Chris caught a cero, a fast one and a half foot fish, with firm white flesh rather like haddock, and looked like a cross between a mackerel and a tuna.  Yum yum, all eaten up as fish fingers for dinner on our arrival.  It is very hot sailing all day through the blazing heat, without stopping to swim or eat, so we are glad to finally be here in Grenada.  This does mean that we only have another ten days here before getting on an aeroplane and coming back, which is sending shock waves through the girls, who are now getting wobbly about leaving the boat, which has very much become our home.

We have never been so close as a family as we are now,  which is absolutely wonderful, and of course at times terrible.   We have had days where we are all collectively ready to murder each other, but these have been rare. Having been herded together constantly for over a year, with no escape, means that we have all learned to be very close, and, heartwarmingly, things are more normally wonderful than terrible.
