We discovered that Fred's
plane was diverted to Trinidad without much warning, and were wondering which
flight he was going to get once he had got back to Barbados. Anyway, to
cut a long story short, whilst we were prevaricating, we heard a speedboat
outside, and it was FRED! He had been quite enterprising, and asked
a taxi to take him to 'a marina', having arrived in St Lucia at
6.30am. He then commandeered a harbour master's boat and searched
the anchorage, (without knowing where we were in the whole of St
Lucia...) He'd had quite an adventure with dinner on the beach in
Barbados at the airlines expense last night.
So we have had a great day,
not least spent reading the MOST RECENT Sunday papers hot from
England. There has been a motheaten January Observer doing the
rounds of yachties, so this is a huge bounty, worth major bargaining power
and when we have read every last advert we will trade them on.

Fred newly changed into shorts): 'Look, I haven't seen anyone with sock marks
for ages!'
