Day 6 Atlantic Crossing

Day 6, Atlantic Crossing,
Positon 14' N and 33' W, December 12th.
We've been rolling quite
heavily in a northerly swell, which is hitting the boat on the starboard
side. These are huge mountainous swells, with about 200 yards from
crest to crest, which have been created by hurricane Epsilon.
Unfortunately they haven't brought any wind with them, and are making life a
little uncomfortable and tummy achy for the girls. They have also
sent the flour box carreening off the worktop, which sadly didn't have it's lid
on.................
The bread has come out of
the little oven, I have finally worked out how to cook it without
incinerating the top,(put it in a roasting pan and cook a flat loaf half-way
down the oven on mark 4).
We are still roaring along
under motor. We have decided to use up two thirds of our fuel this
way, and then sail, keeping the rest for emergencies. We might be
able to sail in a couple of days.......There is wind further west according to
our grib files, which we will reach soon.
Lunch: Tomato bread
Supper: Beef Stew and cabbage.
