Overnight at Les Sables d’Olonne. Very pleasant 35mile trip from La Rochelle, even managed to sail for about 3 hours. Touch of fog for the first time in years. 

Last time here I was mildly unimpressed with the marina at the top of navigation; nothing awful but I just didn’t like it much. Tonight we stayed in a berth in a marina within the commercial basin which was much scruffier and vastly nicer; apparently we just missed the start of the Vendee Globe so couldn’t have got into the posh bit anyway. Got invaded by no fewer than 4 Duanes who were delightful but very thorough. They had to ring up their boss to make sure 3 years at Port La Forêt counted as being legal; which it did. They didn’t bother searching us and didn’t have any dogs.
