Back on the boat after a lovely 6 weeks in Wimbledon during which Hettie married her chap, Ewan.

During our last stay here the prop shaft, stern gland, engine starter battery, generator and bow thruster were all fixed. The bow thruster problem was a burnt out isolator switch but during our first and only night on board the bow thrusters suddenly started themselves up at 0300! We switched them off and now they seem OK but it’s a bit worrying to leave them switched on when we leave the boat, even for an hour or so. Hopefully something just got damp, but oddly enough the same thing happened when it was brand new 15 years ago, we still don’t know why. At long last all equipment seems, at least temporarily, well and as soon as the weather’s good we’ll set off around the corner of NW Spain to La Corruna (avenge Sir John Moore!).

The weather is sunny and hot but with a fair amount of NW wind which we could do without. Anyway, the sails are up, the dinghy is in the water and we’re nearly ready to go.
