We are back in the old stamping grounds and missing all our old friends.

We got back to Marmaris 2 weeks ago and dealt with the inevitable breakages. We finally left for Ciftlik where Martin famously said they had taken ALL his money. We moored at the Russian place which is now very smart with people staying in the rooms. Clare wanted to stay where we were before but last time their neighbour had put a fat German catamaran completely blocking the entrance for 4 yachts. He refused to move until he'd finished his breakfast.

Our anchor windlass gave up 2 days ago and the reason was that all the connections and even the copper wire cable had completely rotted – didn’t cost much, but those with 10+ year old boats might beware. Luckily we spotted the problem while still in the marina. A nice electrician spent about 4 hours in the forepeak in 37 deg and charged £60 labour!

We are heading N and hope most of the nice restaurants with jetties are still there. In Kekova roads the municipality have shut down the jetties and built a mini-marina staffed by surly council workers who only surface to collect the money, instead of the helpful, if occasionally inept, restaurant waiters.
