10th May

We arrived at the Southern end of Dominica at 07:00 and a superb bloke called SeaCat (aka Octavius) moored us onto a buoy and told us to go to sleep since he had an arrangement with the Government that we didn't have to clear Customs until later!

He then drove us to customs which was hassle free so long as you don't want to import frogs [strictly forbidden by special law.]

11th May

Taken by SeaCat (Octavius) on a trip to the rain forest. Saw wild cocoa beans, coffee beans, chillies, lemon grass, bay leaves, bubbling sulphur pools etc

Then clambered with difficulty to a huge waterfall and swam in the pool and then further down the river sat in a hot pool with a mini waterfall. Much better than any jaccuzzi. Lovely soft water coloured red with iron.

Dominica is definitely 'merite le detour' and everyone seems actually to like tourists, not resent us. Tom England would be in 7th heaven.
