.....and we're ready to go - off on the next leg to
the Azores.
We enjoyed our brief stay in Bermuda and would have
liked to have had more time to explore its 181 islands. It is a very
cosmopolitan island and our bus trip to and from Hamilton was fun. We even
stopped at one point and the bus was filled of school children - lots of them.
Hamilton is an interesting place but I think we preferred the quieter and more
laid back charm of St. Georges. It did however have Marks and Spencer for Susan
to browse.
Bernie helped with the lines leaving Captain
Smokey's and was there at the Custom Dock as well to help - what a really nice
man. Our neighbours on the German boat waiting for their forestay are no nearer
leaving after two weeks on the island. The forestay has disappeared somewhere in
the labyrinth that is customs. We wish them well however.
Another boat we know, Aragorn, is some where ahead
of us as they left earlier this morning - we did after all have to purchase a
considerable amount of fuel!
So we're off in sunshine and reasonably flat
seas - we are heading mainly east for the next few days to avoid some
bigger winds to the north and to await a cold front to pass. We were also bid
farewell by a pod of dolphins.
More in due course........
