We had a somewhat stomry night with strong winds
and a significant downpour of rain and were left with a bumpy sea and brisk
winds for most of the night. Today the sun has returned and we are trundling
along at about 5.5 knots towards Porto Santo. On the wildlife front, apart from
the ubiquitous Sheerwaters, we saw another turtle doggedly making its way
towards the mainland. We also came across what looked like a pot marker normally
seen close to land some 200 miles north of Madeira - maybe it had gotten tired
of being a local pot marker and wanted to try its luck on the international
scene - who knows? More in due course.
