....the fuel held out, the squalls finally ceased,
the sun came out and we made our way into Bridgetown Harbour, Barbados at approx
13:45 local time. We have cleared Customs,
Immigration and Health and on a temporary berth until tom, orrow when we can
start work on getting the mast replaced. At the moment we are chasing options to
get Phil to St Lucia tomorrow for his flight back to the UK with Ruth, then need
to get Nick on his way on the 22nd. No time for any relaxing just
yet!!!
We would like to thank everyone who has sent us
messages of support and offers of help - it has just been fantastic to know
there are so many wonderful people out there. We will sleep tonight - well for a
while until the early morning taxi for Phil and then look to start putting
things in place to replace the rig.
We will write up a full account of what we believe
happened for folks to read - I will endeavour to be as open and honest and
non-judgemental as possible....hhmmmm..
For now we are in flight source mode so will update
again very soon.
Once again many thanks for the messages - they have
been a real help to us getting through the past few days. Thanks to
all.
Love
Andrew & Susan
