Our second favourite moment of being in a marina, leaving.....it is always
stressful and today was no exception. It started off so promising, we
looked at the water, we saw what the wind was doing, our friends came and
offered to help push us off and we started the engine.......we started
going backwards to starboard very nicely and with someone watching the bow
and keeping it off the pontoon it looked good – until Glenda said “There
what were you worried about?” and then the wind did its thing and changed
direction and started pushing the bow round. I was running up and down the
deck shouting instructions to Andrew, forward a bit, backward a bit turn a
lot, don’t get need that bit, forward, back, scrape, ouch, hope that is
the keel......and it was and we apologised again to Andromeda but got out
in one piece......no wonder we all would rather anchor off which is what
we did in a very beautiful bay below Mouros which was just across the Ria.
Glenda and Ian on Lucy Alice joined us in the afternoon and very kindly
provided a taxi service to the their boat where we spent an enjoyable
afternoon/evening before getting back on board in time for bed.
