We arrived here late afternoon after nearly 8 hours at sea downwind. The wind and swell much lighter than forecast so we motored quite a bit. We finally picked up a buoy in Pinneys Beach Bay just north of Charlestown the only town on Nevis. We were too late to check in so are still displaying our yellow flag which means we can't go ashore until the Skipper has been to Customs and done all the paperwork - first thing in the morning.

A spectacular anchorage right below the volcano and with the cloud on top and a full moon quite eerie. We can also see St Kitts from here too.

We had a busy day yesterday in the marina in Jolly Harbour getting various jobs done - the laundry ( which should have been ready at 3 eventually retrieved at 7.30 pm -we are in The Caribbean ) the generator and engine were serviced, water filters changed and the bilge pump sorted. We also did a big shop at the supermarket - Easter eggs were finally procured in the process thankfully . Between jobs the children enjoyed the swimming pool ( Merryn swimming 4 lengths and diving to the bottom in the deep end and Sam swimming with his face underwater and swimming a length in his float jacket) they also had time on Jolly Harbour Beach. All this was followed by fish and chips from The Routemaster Bus!

So the best few days and Easter weekend will be spent here exploring.
