Relief - we made it and now anchored at 12.30 in a bay on an Island I. Graciosa off the north side of Lanzarotte. Also here is a catamaran from Falmouth, Swedish and Finnish yachts and a French yacht with two young children on board.

Beautiful, stunning volcanic scenery and turquoise water. Lanzarotte north end steep sided into the sea and very dark. Apart from they temperature reminds us of the volcanic area around Torridon and Skye.

As we have never been to The Canaries before it really has been a wonderful and a privileged way to arrive by sea.

It is still sinking in. We've had lunch now going for a swim shortly and tonight will open a bottle. We not sure how long we shall anchor here hopefully more than one night before we get back into the real world of Rubicon Marina on the south end of Lanzarote to sort ourselves out, do some exploring and try and get a flight home - most probably a week on Monday.

Pictures to follow.
