> Once round the corner needless to say the wind started coming from the East so we were heading into it not good for sailing although we had the sails up. So motor sailing. Again green hillsides at one point a few houses on the foreshore and few cars parked so looked like the coastal road which had been visible all round the cape About 1/3 of the way up the hillside came down to the sea st that point.

> Once past the end of Corsica which had flattened out and a few fields visible the wind went round to the north east as predicted and we then had a great sail across to the island. Elba could be seen in the distance to the south and the Italian mainland in the haze to the NE. Quite a few yachts around more than we’ve seen for sometime also ferries coming in and out of Bastia.
