Narva is def a border town with fortresses on both Estonian and Russian sides of the river looking at each other. And it feels Russian, very drab apartment blocks everywhere some churches and a monestry and a SWedish Lion monument thats about it. We found a shopping centre called Fama and got a few foody bits but you wouldnt have much success doing your weekly shop here. We wanted to eat out last night and try a special fish dish that was recommended to us but frankly we didnt like the look of any of the restuarants. The river however is beautiful and we have moved to an anchorage off Narva Joesuu which is a bit more of a resort with good beaches, nice walks etc andthe eateries looked OK on first glance so we may yet get our fish special.
