I think I have been reading too many 18th century seafaring novels. While I was collecting Kath’s knickers off the washing line (they would have had something to say about “women wasting fresh water on washing their smalls”), I sighted a sail. Our first ship in 20 days! Soon I was speaking to them on the VHF radio, having a good old natter and comparing notes.
My somewhat laconic log entry reads:
“1150. Spoke SV ‘Green Cho’, on passage from Panama to The Gambier.”
Jack Aubrey would have been proud of me.
