24TH MARCH 2019
We sailed  to Port Real to take on fuel, the bay was very shallow but well marked by buoys although we did touch bottom briefly on the way out in the centre of the marked channel.
We had a potter around the village, basic clapper board houses.  A fishing and recreational fishing community. Very friendly.  We also checked out of immigration there by ‘phone.
Wind 15 knots, sails up and out.  Sighted a whale about a mile away having great fun tail slapping.
I went below to get an hour or two nap so that I would be OK for night watch.  No sooner had I got to sleep then the fishing rod reel ran fast and furious.  Rushed up on deck, brought yacht up into wind whilst J was on the rod.  He said it was big, thought it was a large Tuna as it did not jump but went deep.  It took him half an hour to reel it in, only to find a massive clump of seaweed on the line and the hook gone.  So he did hook something but we will never find out what it was! First photo of the bay going into Port Real.  2nd photo of Jonathan having reeled in a load of Sagaso weed.  I did the 10p.m - 2 am watch and Jonathan did the 2 am to 6 am watch.  Kept busy on my watch half way through as so many container ships coming and going from the Republic of Dominica.
