TASMANIA TO SYDNEY  SUNDAY 27th FEBRUARY, 2011

Coastal hopping up the east coast of Australia, but not really seeing much of it up close as we were late leaving Tasmania and we want at least a couple of days back in Sydney before heading on up to Brisbane.  There is always next Aus' summer to do it more gently.  Below are some of the photo's I took as we went up the coastline of Tasmania and the Dolphins playing around are yacht.
Wine Glass Bay in Tasmania had quite a few yachts at anchor, one of the better anchorages on that side of the coast and also because there was a round Island rally going on.  We were invited to join it when we met up with Penny and Jeremy, the organisers, in Dover but we need to be back in Brisbane before we fly home.

We will definitely make our way back down to Jervis Bay, we arrived just as it was getting dark and left at 6 am this morning.  What we did see of it is beautiful, white sand beaches lots of woodland and on the other side is the Australian Navy College, similar, from what I could see through the binoculars, to Dartmouth Naval college, there is also a very pretty town nearby with a lot of history.

Sadly we have no wind at all today although it is supposed to have been coming in southerly by 1 O'clock this afternoon an hour ago, it has not happened.  I suppose the upside is we are not hammering into a Northerly and heavy seas.  Yesterday we sailed for awhile but then the winds turned to 'on the nose' so we had to give up.  We are a bit low on fresh water at the moment as we have to sail in order to put the generator on to get the desalinator up and running to make some fresh water.  We have another night in a bay just south of Botany Bay tonight and will arrive in Sydney tomorrow.  We have planned to meet up with friends, Penny Hinings, The Brocklehursts and Athol Robinson for dinner tomorrow night.
