11th November, 2013 We set sail for Kabara Island but it was not that sheltered and the wind blew hard so just stayed there the night before heading off to Totoya Island. We sailed from Fuluga in a good wind of about 25 knots on average and caught a 6lb Trevally/Jack. We left for Totoya a collapsed volcanic islands, the sea was rough and the wind strong so we could not go inside the lagoon due to the wind direction. We anchored off a beach around the corner. The following morning we had problems getting the anchor up as it got caught on a ledge so one of the boys from a fishing boat dived down to help us, thank goodness and freed us. We toasted Malcolm on the 13th as it was his birthday but due to lack of wifi we could not send a message. We arrived in Moala island and walked in the village which was much more well to do than any of the other villages we saw. They also have an airport, but no wifi and the digicell phone had gone down but the Police let us phone the UK using a phone card to let the family know we were still alive and kicking. We did sevusevu at the police station... just outside the cell doors as the chief's house was up the hill and he felt it would be quicker to do it there. The village has a large school and makes most of its money growing Kava and Copra. The wind was still quite strong when we arrived but managed to find a sheltered anchorage around the corner from the village and away from the coral bombers which were everywhere. Yesterday 15th November we set sail for Musket Cove, a rather confused sea lifting us up on the quater deck. I was lucky this time I had first night watch which finished at 12 midnight. We caught and I gaffed a 10lb Blue Fin Tuna so we had delicious Sashumi and tuna steaks for dinner.
